A local event for young anglers

Here’s the plan

Who & where

Open to local students in grades 8–12. Fish solo or with a partner, with one or two young anglers per boat. Boats and kayaks are welcome, subject to safe capacity and ramp access.

Fishing is limited to the Severn River upstream of the Navy Bridge. The bridge is the downstream boundary.

Launch and weigh-in: Rugby Hall marina

Tournament morning

6–7 a.m.: Check in and launch
7 a.m.: Fishing begins
Noon: Weigh-in at the marina
Afterward: Planned fish fry and crabs for families and team supporters

$20 per angler benefits the SPHS Bass Fishing Team.

Stay for the fish fry and crabs

We’re planning a fish fry and crabs, and hoping to have a chef prepare the fish caught that morning. Parents and anyone interested in supporting the team are welcome. Chef and food arrangements are still being finalized.

Join us on the river

Submit one form per angler, including each partner. A parent or guardian should complete the form for an angler under 18; anglers 18 or older may provide their own contact details.

Dan will receive your signup and follow up to confirm your spot, final rules, and payment details. No payment is collected through this form.

All participants must follow Maryland fishing and boating laws, including applicable licenses, boating safety certification, safety equipment, and fish size and catch limits.
